The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated summer day camp Programs and Events Leaders to join our team within the Parks & Recreation Division. Reporting to the Programs Coordinator, the Programs and Events Leader is responsible for:
• Planning daily and weekly activities based on pre-determined themes, ages of participants and available facilities and supplies;
• Preparing written program plans for submission to and approval by the Programs Coordinator prior to the delivery of activities;
• Communicating questions and concerns to the Programs Coordinator addressing the quality of the day camp program or behavioral issues;
• Providing administrative assistance to the Coordinator through completion of lesson plans, attendance sheets, incident reports, supply and evaluation forms;
• Promoting the program to the parents and participants through verbal and written communication;
• Delivering programs that are responsive to both individual and group needs and interests;
• Preparing and organizing craft and activity supplies and managing equipment inventory, ensuring supplies and equipment are stored appropriately at the end of each day;
• Provide leadership to volunteers who assist in program delivery, direct volunteers in daily functions;
• Attending Programs & Events Leader training and scheduled Programs meetings;
• Participating in events and special projects as required.
What You Bring
• High school diploma
• Education in a related field or comparable mix of education and experience
• Level 1, 2, or 3 Early Childhood Educator Certificate preferred
• Previous related experience working with children
• Intermediate first aid certification is required
