The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) offers free tax assistance for lower income residents in Okotoks, Diamond Valley and Foothills County. Program volunteers are screened through the Okotoks Volunteer Resource Centre and are trained by the Canada Revenue Agency to prepare simple tax returns. Those with higher income or more complex tax scenarios are encouraged to seek assistance from professional tax preparation services. See eligibility criteria below:
Residents must provide all employment T-4s, government tax slips and previous year’s notice of assessment.
