Recreation subsidies are available for qualifying residents experiencing low income or financial stress who want to participate in recreation and culture programs and activities provided by the Town of Okotoks. Qualified applicants will receive 80% off most Town of Okotoks programs (including culture programs, certifications, arts, fitness, personal development and day camps) offered through Active Okotoks, as well as recreation passes/admissions. Please note, Children’s Day Camps are limited to a $200 subsidy per year.
Eligibility: Children from three months to 18 years of age, adults and seniors are eligible providing the family unit meets the income guidelines.
To be eligible for Recreation Fee Assistance, you must live in the Town of Okotoks or Foothills County (in close proximity to these towns) and meet the income guidelines below:

** Line 23600 Net Income on the most recent Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment is used to determine income. The combined total income for all adult household members is considered.
Note: If the Notice of Assessment is unavailable, please submit one of the following:
- Alberta Works: Income support health card showing current month.
- Alberta Works Adult or Child Health benefit approval letter showing eligibility period (not the card).
- Independent youth letter (a letter from school principal, guidance counsellor, or Child and Youth Support Program of Alberta Children’s Services).
- Letter from a social agency staff member verifying current income is within the guidelines.
