Okotoks Pump Track open to the public

The Town of Okotoks is thrilled to announce the opening of its latest outdoor recreational attraction, the Okotoks Pump Track. Designed to cater to wheeled sports enthusiasts of all ages, the pump track promises to be a hub of adrenaline-pumping action, community engagement, and family-friendly fun.

Located at 1400 North Railway Street in Bill Robertson Park, the Okotoks Pump Track offers a dynamic circuit of rollers, berms, and jumps, providing a thrilling experience for BMX riders, skateboarders, scooter enthusiasts, inline skater, and mountain bikers alike. Designed with safety and inclusivity in mind, the hard surface track welcomes riders of all skill levels, from beginners looking to improve their techniques to seasoned riders seeking to test their prowess.

"This is an exciting moment for Okotoks, as we open a fantastic outdoor space for our community to come together and enjoy extreme sports," said Mayor Thorn. "The pump track is not just a thrilling attraction, but also an avenue to encourage an active lifestyle and promote a sense of camaraderie among residents. We believe it will quickly become a beloved spot for riders of all ages."

The Okotoks Pump Track opened for public use on Thursday, July 20 and will remain open year-round when clear of snow and ice. With the Alberta Summer Games underway in Okotoks July 20-23, parking at Bill Robertson Park will be limited and pump track users are encouraged to ride their bikes to the site.

The Town is committed to providing diverse recreational opportunities for the community. Thank you to residents for their enthusiasm and participation in the design survey and in-park project information session.

"The Okotoks Pump Track represents the collective efforts of our community, and we couldn't be prouder of the result," said Rod March, Parks Manager for the Town of Okotoks. "We are confident that this track will foster a sense of unity, friendship, and healthy competition among residents, making it a cornerstone of our town's recreational landscape."
